![]() ![]() It was announced at MechCon 2018 that the Unseen were intended to be included in Urban Warfare. The pack was released on November 21st 2019. So the Unseen are back in a big way, which is good for a lot of reasons not least of which is that they constitute most of the Inner Sphere's good heavy brawlers. BattleTech: Heavy Metal Expansion PackEdit The name of the game's third planned expansion pack Heavy Metal was announced at the same time the Urban Warfare release date was announced. Its a bit fiddly if youve never done it before, but full instructions can be found here. A couple of years ago the Mechwarrior Online developer, Piranha Games, chose to fight HG's latest round of infringement allegations in court rather than roll over yet again and secured a reasonably strong judgement in their favor-and that of other associated IP holders like Catalyst and Harebrained. If you want to edit the Heavy Metal files (specifically the mech chassis files), you need to EXTRACT them from the asset bundles, modify the files, then REPACK the asset file. Therefore, I use HeavyMetal for all of my design and printing needs.Turlin: sweet I was wondering why most of the original mechs were missing, I thought it might be a copyright thing, would be good to have stingers and wasps for early game, and Id love to see the Crusader at some stage, but those leg SRMs might be a hassle to program :) It absolutely was a copyright thing.most of the mechs in question are known as Unseen because they were casualties of a protracted legal dispute between the various Battletech license holders and an anime import company called Harmony Gold that dates back to the mid 1990s. HeavyMetal does everything I need for all of my games except for the BattleForce Cards which I make myself with an excel sheet that comes out with more accurate numbers than SSW. HeavyMetal uses less memory and works faster. So even if it is not a new Campaign, you will start seeing the mechs in game, and if you have completed Campaign mode, or in Career Mode, you probably just have to wait a bit before the Flashpoints start to appear. ![]() ![]() SSW, or rather the Java that it requires to run, is a memory hog that interferes with my computer. it should just meld into your game naturally. Each classic ‘Mech comes with unique equipment that reflects the flavor and lore of the original board game. It's got nearly as many bugs as Java.īasically, I have a rule that if a program does not work WITH my computer and the way I run it, I will not use it unless it is the only program that does what I need to do, and in that case I will keep that program on only as long as I NEED it and then it turns back off. One Original and Seven Classic BattleMechs: Seven classic ‘Mechs from BATTLETECH’s 35-year legacy make their triumphant return along with the first completely new ‘Mech designed exclusively for this expansion. For the same reason I stay away from programs that require junk. I don't want to turn off half of my stuff just to have the "honor" of running Java so I stay away from programs that require it. If I want to turn on something that uses java, I have to turn off the design software, excel, PSP, most if not all of the pdfs, and stuff like that because of how much memory java hogs to boot up. I multitask a lot and have learned the wonder of keyboard shortcuts over the years. More like I've got three to four or more PDFs open for reference in foxit reader, adobe, or adobe editor with an excel document or two open, sometimes opening Strategic ops or other game manuals to check out rules, while having HMP or whatever other design software I have open, while performing pixel-level graphics editing in Paint Shop Pro, along with Pidgin and firefox and a few other things all at the same time. ![]()
